Create a website to rehome all the 600 group machine tool solutions under one roof.
The brand image needed realigning to simplify their offering and an eCommerce solution for spare parts was also vital to create a more cohesive online presence to serve both new and existing customers.
As well as giving the general website look and feel an uplift, we worked closely with the Colchester marketing department to best decide the customer's user journey. It had to serve both new and existing customers in equal measures.
We investigated how the products and spares should be categorised and the tools customers should have available in finding a product or spare for their needs. A comprehensive suggestive search facility and filtering options would make narrowing down product choices much easier than having to dig through the webstie navigation.
Existing customers needed an easy way to find relevant spares so by linking a spare to individual products there was a clear way for people to identify the spare suitable for their machine.
This maximised the usability for both new and existing customers.
The website is now much more effective in displaying products and getting users to where they need to be quickly. Information is clearer and the addition of the new eCommerce solution provides are comprehensive platform to combat potential threats in the marketplace. With a huge opportunity to expand the spares market globally, potential impact will be far-reaching.
