Crows Nest Holidays have multiple caravan and camping parks across the beautiful Yorkshire coast. Four separate holiday Park websites needed to be consolidated to reduce admin time, ongoing costs and we saw this as a prime opportunity to refresh the overall design.

Reducing admin time and ongoing costs

Crows Nest Holidays were drowning in admin as each Park had a separate website and were all managed separately. They wanted to consolidate all of their Parks into a single site to free up admin time and reduce ongoing costs but needed to maintain their excellent SEO rankings and content they’d built up over many years.

Creating a new structure without affecting SEO

We worked closely with Crows Nest to create a new structure and design for the website. Using our expertise in UX design we mapped out new journeys for the different demographics that visited the 4 separate websites. We then merged all 4 websites into one single entity and connected this to the Umbraco CMS system to make it easy to maintain and update over time.

We brainstormed ideas of improvements in structure and layout options to bring the website up to date with competitors and suggested new features to help enrich the online customer experience.

We created a strong migration plan to copy over all their current content to retain SEO value and set up 301 redirects so that any historic links were maintained.

Retaining SEO value and improving the online experience for customers

The main benefit for the client was that all websites could be managed in one place which has significantly reduced admin time for day-to-day management and marketing of the website.

The new Umbraco CMS has added to the efficiencies of managing everything in one place by providing a flexible, easy to use platform for the client to manage their website.

The SEO value of the consolidated website has been increased due to the increased number of pages after the consolidation, in the long term this will drive more enquiries to the website resulting in more sales and bookings.

The cherry on top was that the hosting and support fees were significantly reduced now there was only one website to host.
