The Rascal Babies website and brand needed some love; with no design or development attention for over 6 years the design felt outdated and didn't have much personality.
The team needed a website which they could add second hand babycare products to quickly as and when new stock arrived. They needed the flexibility to add SEO-rich content to drive traffic and increase conversions.
The overall website needed to be simple to navigate for parents on the go and they needed a platform they could trust purchasing products on. With the ever-growing competitive market online, Rascal Babies needed to show their second hand products in a professional way.
Whilst it was important to create a more pleasurable shopping experience through images and typography, emphasis needed to be on the professionalism of the business.
With the personality of Rascal Babies being fun and lighthearted in nature, a balance needed to be struck between playful and trustworthy. User decisions needed to be easy whilst also being enjoyable to encourage customers to browse and buy through the site. We created simple pathways to key product categories and highlighted customer testimonials.
An updated brand, logo, illustrations and hand drawn typeface are used to lift the design and bring personality; whilst a muted colour palette of blues, large buttons and modern layouts bring more sophistication to encourage confidence in the buying process. Reviews are also used on the homepage for validation of the product quality and services to reassure new customers.
