The Challenge

The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) needed to upgrade their website from Umbraco 7 to Umbraco 13. As there was no upgrade path between the versions, the project required a full CMS rebuild.

FPH saw this as a key opportunity to refresh the website design and address long‑standing issues around navigation, content structure and discoverability. They wanted to better promote Faculty work, improve access to regional resources, increase membership enquiries and reduce admin effort for staff; all while preserving the large volume of content they had built up over time.

The Solution

We ran detailed discovery sessions to understand FPH’s content, user needs and technical requirements before rebuilding the site on Umbraco 13.

To minimise disruption, we aligned the new build with existing page templates and created a robust data migration plan, allowing FPH’s team to focus on improvements rather than manual content work.

Key improvements included:

  • A refreshed homepage and page template design to improve usability and visual appeal

  • Improved content structure and search to increase discoverability

  • An interactive eligibility checker to help prospective members find the right membership category

  • fee calculator that calculates membership costs based on location and salary

  • Simpler management of FAQs and member benefits

  • Integration with FPH’s CRM via a JSON feed to automatically pull pricing and country data

  • An interactive regional resource map to better showcase local and regional links

The Outcome

FPH now has a modern, user‑friendly website built on a future‑proof CMS.

The refreshed design and improved navigation make it easier for users to find content, explore membership options and engage with Faculty activity. Interactive tools support membership growth, while CRM integration and improved content management significantly reduce admin overhead for the internal team.

The rebuild has delivered a more visually engaging, easier‑to‑manage and scalable platform that better supports FPH’s members, staff and long‑term digital goals.

“Attentive, friendly, and produced excellent work - we would be absolutely happy to recommend them!”
