Having developed an in-depth knowledge in both the Tea and Coffee industry, the company needed a website which reflected this history, alongside a showcase of the quality product range. With over 50 million cups of their own tea and coffee drank every year plus many more contract packed, it was also important that the company had an easy to maintain and navigate ecommerce facility, whereby customers can order online direct.
Northern Tea selected Arkom, not on the basis that they were the cheapest but because they offered the best solution to their needs. In the long term however, Arkom’s hand coded website and ecommerce system represented the most cost-effective solution. It was important for both parties to get to grips with the project, which is why they spent several weeks on the development stage — to ensure firm foundations upon which the project would grow.
Arkom were able to offer Northern Tea Merchants a complete solution from initial design ideas, photography of all products through to a secure online store facility.
Northern Tea were also given a Content Management System which enabled them to upload special offers, discounts and new product ranges to their customers.
The site gave Northern Tea an online presence, which is essential in today’s competitive market place. The company uses it as a comprehensive marketing tool to end users, retailers, corporate customers and even their competitors.
In addition to hosting the site Arkom were able to research any other possible domain names for Northern Tea and register these, enabling all variations to be directed to the correct website.
