Luxfer´s products are sold worldwide into a wide range of demanding applications, including automotive, aerospace, defence, medical, rail and emergency services.

Requirement:

Luxfer was concerned that their website was looking tired and unloved, so consulted Arkom with a view to developing a modern site with better functionality, which would be directly under their own control, allowing them keep the content up to date and relevant.

In addition to conveying their professional excellence they also wanted their site to achieve the following objectives:-

  • Increase traffic to the new website
  • Be flexible enough to reflect the daily changes within the Company, whilst maintaining the site’s identity.
  • To serve as an effective resource, directing sales and technical enquiries to the correct subsidiary within the Group, via efficient links to subsidiary websites.
  • To enable users to access any information they require, or contact details within two clicks.
  • To provide detailed information on a restricted basis to key stakeholders in the business, particularly the financial community in London and New York.

Solution:

An effective and professional design was at the heart of this project. The simple style was appropriate for the technical nature of Luxfer, but because of its simplicity it lent itself well to the addition of new pages or information in the future. By improving the accessibility and usability, the new site was able to convert more web traffic to enquiries.

As with all of Arkom’s websites, www.luxfer.com was built around a custom content management system. This system enables Luxfer to keep the site content up to date, with measures in place to ensure all new copy follows the same style as the rest of the site.

The site also employed basic Search Engine Optimisation techniques to boost the site’s standing organically in the major search engines. In addition Arkom also passed on tips for Luxfer to ensure future copy is also viewed favourably by Search Engines.

Arkom have also provided Luxfer with monthly reports detailing the site’s usage and performance. By monitoring the performance of the site against the targets, Luxfer can work with Arkom to ensure their site is continually developed in accordance to their changing customer base and needs. The site also has an integral database driven communication feature which enables the Company to build closer ties with the financial community that invests and follows the Group.
