As Managing Director at Arkom, Alan is involved with most projects. Graduating from Leeds University with a BEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering Alan went on to complete his education with an MPhil in Simulation and Modelling.

Following a considerable number of years working as a Systems Control Engineer developing software for Power Stations, Alan took the brave step of setting up by himself and Arkom was born. Due to his strong reputation in his specialist field, business took off immediately, initially through his strong links with National Power. From this beginning Arkom then began to look at developing Internet based systems, just as the Internet revolution gathered pace, and the business swiftly grew.

In Arkom Alan has found the perfect outlet for his skills. He comments: -

"I love working out solutions to meet our clients problems and seeing them through to a working system from which the clients benefits. The fact that our speciality is bespoke systems is excellent for me as it allows me to flex my creative muscles.

I am fortunate to have a fantastic team around me who all buy into the Arkom philosophy - placing the client at the heart of everything we do."

A father of one Alan has to keep himself active to ensure he keeps up with the demands of his energetic son. Alan is passionate about windsurfing and has recently taken up walking as a new hobby and can often be seen walking through the peak and dales of Derbyshire at the weekends!
