To start with, we would like to congratulate Olli our latest addition to the Arkom team, whom has just past his three month probational period and now is a fully-fledged member of the team, so far we have been delighted on his enthusiasm and dedication to the Job, getting stuck into everything we throw at him (even a few jibes at his cover band singing past).

Jon has been a busy boy alate, he has been auditioning for the channel 4 programme million pound drop, so fingers crossed with his good looks and his knowledge of all thinks movies/sport and music, he might soon be able to buy us a round or two!

Cookies / Privacy

There’s been a lot of talk recently about cookies in the news, but just hours before the new law came in to affect the UK’s ICO updated its guidance on how to use cookies.

The Information Commissioner's Office in stated that websites can now assume that users have consented to their use of them (download there guidance here).

The use of "implied consent", shifts responsibility to the user rather than the website operator a big change from the previous mandate that all websites should make sure visitors are able to give "informed consent" over cookies.

But it is still important that your site makes it clear when saving a cookie to a user's computer, and take what steps you can to seek their agreement whether it is session data or analytics cookies generated by Google, the best way to do this is to take a session audit of your website and outline in your privacy statement what session/cookies your site uses and why and how the user can reject these cookies.

If you want to know more please get in contact with us.

All the Best and please feel free to send us any cookies or hob knobs,
