Alan is responsible for developing web strategy for our clients

Alan started his career with a Degree in Electrical Engineering followed by a research degree in Mathematics and Modelling followed then by a stint as the youngest full time lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University department of Electronics and Communications.

Alan joined an engineering consultancy in Harrogate working as a software engineer writing and commissioning power station control software (very scary) forming Arkom in 1993.

Alan has a unique ability to spot simple, practical solutions to complex problems and communicate them in simple non-technical language. Alan does not indulge in esoteric marketing practises dispite currently studying for a post grad qualification in marketing; he does not use management speak so rarely uses the term 'moving forward'.

Ben Saxton BA (Hons) - Customer Care Director

Ben is responsible for all client relations from the point of sale, through production and for the lifetime of the project.

With a degree in financial services Ben enjoys looking at the return from investment that a project will deliver but gets a real kick out of getting under the skin of a company and understanding the broader picture. Once the end goal is understood the company’s marketing plan can focus on achieving it, ideally the website will form the cornerstone of the marketing plan and all other channels will feed from it.

An experienced account manager with an interest and training in various communication skills such as counselling, coaching and NLP, Ben believes that empathy and honesty are his strongest traits. He also considers clearly defined client expectations and project requirements are vital when building successful relationships.

Garry Hasman BSC(Hons) - Technical Director

Garry is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of our work

With over 15 Years Programming Experience and over 10 years working with web standards, working on a variety of web based applications from e-commerce and brochure websites to secure government procurement systems. Building up a vast array of knowledge and expertise in ASP, ASP.Net, PHP, SQL, MYSQL, AJAX, CSS3, XHTML, Online Payments, HTML 5 , SEO and more, and currently expanding his knowledge base by delving into IOS5 App Development for the iPod, iPhone and iPad.

Garry has an insight into and the ability to solve seemingly intractable technical problems with the minimum code and a glint in his eye. No one knows how he does it, but some have suggested that the force is strong with this one.

The Studio

Our talented team of graphic designers, programmers and internet specialists staff the engine room that we call 'the Studio'. Designers using Macs and Programmers using twin screen PCs, otherwise know as the dark side and light side.

All our team are employed directly by Arkom; we do not use sub-contractors. This means we are able to provide a high quality and consistent service to our clients.

Our graphic designers work closely with the techies to ensure all websites are developed on brand with ease of use as top priority.
